There are quite a few excellent locations around town to relax and listen to local musicians. Blues, rock, ska, fusion, and funk can all be found if you know where to look.

The List

Redwood Cafe – The Redwood Cafe offers a wide range of events from poetry slams to notable bands such as The Aniquators or The THUGZ. Their music after dark has various cover charges based on who is playing that night. Visit Redwoodcafe.com for the calendar of events. They are located at 8240 Old Redwood Highway.

Tradewinds – The Tradewinds Bar in Cotati serves up a great mix of music almost every day of the week. From the Monday night Blues Pro Jam to the Pulsators, they are a hot spot for blues, rock, and more. Visit Tradewindsbar.com for more information. They are located at 8210 Old Redwood Highway.

Spanckys – Music at Spanckys is a weekend affair with bands rocking the joint on Friday, Saturday, and sometimes on Sunday. Visit Spanckysbar.com for more information. They are located at 8204 Old Redwood Highway.

Mack’s Bar and Grill – A classic spot in Penngrove, Mack’s hosts plenty of events including music like the Jeff Eads blues band, often with no cover. You can check them out on their Facebook page. Mack’s is located at 10056 Main Street, Penngrove.

Penngrove Pub – This is the classic neighborhood bar where everybody knows your name. They have live music on the weekends. Call 664-8018 for more information. The pub is located at 10005 Main Street, Penngrove.
