Ballet Califia’s ‘The Nutcracker’ is this weekend

Ballet Califia performs “The Nutcracker” at 10:30 a.m., noon and 8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 7; 2:30 p.m. and 8 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 8; and 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 9.

David McNaughton is responsible for the set design, with Shelley Scott in charge of the costumes. Both contributed to the choreography, intended to “bring out the strengths of their community of dancers and interject a fresh and fun atmosphere to the traditional tale of Christmas dreams.

The company will perform at Spreckels Performing Arts Center, Spreckels Performing Arts Center, 5409 Snyder Lane, Rohnert Park. Tickets are $25 at balletcalifia.org or 570-7682.
