Local find: Shige Sushi Japanese Kitchen
You may have seen the banner advertising the grand opening of Shige Sushi Japanese Kitchen, which opened on the Cotati strip in October. It’s located in the same venue of the former restaurant Nagome, but along with the new ownership comes a revised menu, offering authentic Japanese food in a warm and inviting setting.
When you’ve had your fill of Thanksgiving turkey and stuffing, you can come in for a plate lunch (rice, miso soup and salad included), a big bowl of seaweed salad, or order some nigiri, sashimi and sushi rolls.
Owner and sushi chef, Shigekazu Mori, gets many types of fresh fish delivered regularly and the online reviews have been nothing but positive–from quality cuts of ahi to creamy salmon–all at reasonable prices.
This small, but cozy, sushi bar and restaurant (just 22 seats) is located at 8235 Old Redwood Hwy in Cotati. Call 795-9753 for info.
