The air was scrubbed clean Monday after the first rainfall of the season doused many places in Sonoma County with more than an inch of rain.
The unsettled weather made way for dramatic skies throughout the North Coast, such as the clouds pictured above looming above a vineyard along Highway 101 in Cotati.
The storm front moved on by mid-morning, paving the way for a sunny stroll for Michelle Lee and her 1-year-old son, Grant, shown below at Santa Rosa’s Spring Lake Park.
Scattered showers “will float by for the next couple of days,” said Diana Henderson, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service. Sunny skies should return by the weekend, she said.
Cazadero reported the most rain at 1.29 inches, Santa Rosa had 1.1 inches, and Healdsburg had the least at 0.6 inches. The last rainstorm was June 4, with about a quarter-inch in Santa Rosa.
