E. Cotati railroad crossing closes Friday-Sunday

The Sonoma Marin Area Rail Transit (SMART) District is closing East Cotati Avenue Friday through Sunday, Aug. 3-5, at the railroad crossing between Santero Way and Windmill Farms Drive.

Construction on a new grade crossing will proceed around the clock. During the closure, traffic will be detoured onto Adrian Drive, Southwest Boulevard, and Snyder Lane. Night work may continue later in the month.

Traffic delays are also expected in the Alta Avenue and Almond Street area due to asphalt trench restoration and preparation for asphalt overlays.

Watch for barricades and signs as crews work on the Copeland Creek Bike Path
and near Rancho Verde Circle on a new traffic signal.
