A Cotati house was destroyed by fire Sunday night, but the four occupants were able to get out unhurt, according to fire officials.
The blaze at 10:30 p.m. destroyed the home on Lakewood Avenue, causing damage estimated at $400,000, said Rancho Adobe Battalion Chief Andy Taylor.
The cause of the blaze has not been determined.
Taylor said the four people living at the house were home at the time and attempted to put the fire out with a garden hose.
By the time firefighters arrived, Taylor said the home was engulfed in flames.
The fire was fought by 20 firefighters from Petaluma, Rancho Adobe, Rohnert Park, Gold Ridge, and Rincon Valley.
