There’s something for every age group this week as the school year winds down and summer gears up: school plays, “Legally Blonde,” Fundraiser Friday at Spancky’s, the Rose Parade.
Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m., Sunday at 2 p.m, “Legally Blonde the Musical,” based on the hit comic movie of the same name, takes its characters from Malibu to Harvard Law. Friday night, keep those big tips coming as cancer-survivor Amy DeLong collects donations for the American Cancer society as the Spancky’s Bar celebrity/guest bartender, 5-7 p.m., 8201 Old Redwood Highway, Cotati, 664-0169.
On Saturday morning, you can cheer for the Rancho Cotate High School Color Guard and Marching Band playing classic rock in the 118th Annual Luther Burbank Rose Parade & Festival. The two-hour parade of floats, horses and novelty units starts 10 a.m. at Sonoma Avenue and E Street and proceeds north on E Street and then west on Fourth Street. A festival follows until 3 p.m. in Courthouse Square, and includes an Iron Chef competition among the county’s high school culinary arts programs. For more info: www.roseparadefestival.com.
