Unique Xmas gift for sports fans
Looking for a gift for someone who has everything?
The Petaluma High School baseball team has just the present for that special someone.
The Trojans players are selling personalized bricks that will be cemented on or leading up to the backstop of their field. The money raised will be used to purchase new dugouts.
The bricks will be engraved with the purchaser’s name and a brief message.
There are three sizes:
4″ x 8″ for $100
8″ x 8″ for $250
12″ x 12″ for $1,000
Bricks may be engraved with an individual or company name.
“What we have now is just a bench with a fence in front of it,” coach Paul Cochrun said. “We need real dugouts with roofs. They will not only improve the look of the field, but it is also a safety issue.”
After doing his homework, Cochrun felt the best and most economical option was to purchase pre-fab dugouts. He found a company that will deliver two dugouts for $40,000.
In recent years, Petaluma coaches, players and Petaluma city schools maintenance workers have transformed the Trojans’ diamond into one of the best natural-turf fields in the Redwood Empire.
Dugouts will help complete the upgrade.
“What we have now is just a bench with a fence in front of it,” Cochrun said. “We need real dugouts with roofs. That will not only improve the look of the field, but it’s also a safety issue.”
Petaluma players and coaches are taking orders and forms are also available in the school office (201 Fair St.). For more information, contact Cochrun at firstname.lastname@example.org
