Polka, yodeling, lederhosen encouraged at Cotati Oktoberfest
Enjoy German food and beer and the oom-pah-pah of Karl Lebherz and his Bavarian band at the Cotati Oktoberfest, Saturday, 12-6 p.m. in La Plaza Park.
There is no charge for music and dancing under a big top in downtown Cotati at the corner of Old Redwood Hwy. and W. Sierra Ave.
An authentic meal of grilled bratwurst, German potato salad, sauerkraut and gingerbread is $15, including a choice of microbrews from Lagunitas Brewing Company, wine, root beer or water. Vegetarian brats available, too.
The afternoon’s activities include a silent auction of beer steins, 12 to 5 p.m.; Wiener Dog (dachshund) Races at 2 p.m.; Men’s Tankard Hold at 3 p.m.; Women’s Beer Stein Race at 4 p.m. No entry fee, winners get $50.
