Lots of SSU Excel Summer Camp slots still available

Wednesday, June 15th, 2011 | Posted by | no responses

In this age of park and recreation budget cutbacks, local parents are challenged to find reasonably priced summer activities for their older children. Fortunately EXCEL for Youth Summer 2011 offers dozens of classes in science, technology and the arts from June 27 through July 29 on the campus of Sonoma State University.
Mature students entering the 4-9th grades can grab a unique opportunity for academic enrichment on a college campus, with labs, guest speakers and field trips.
Choices include one-week half-day sessions, $150-$178, and two-week half-day sessions, $300-$345. For students staying all day, there is a supervised one hour “lunch bunch” at no additional charge; students are supervised at all times.
Students and parents can choose from dozens of high-intensity classes from Pre-Med for Kids, entering grades 4-8; Harry Potter at Hogwarts and Mythical Monster Quest, grades 4-6; Built It! Architectural Design Challenge and Dig It! An Archaeological Mystery, 6-9, and Fashion Design Studio, 7-9.
